An animated adaptation of Marjane Satrapi's autobiographical graphic novel, following her childhood in Tehran during the Islamic Revolution of 1979 and the Iran-Iraq War. As the oppressive theocratic regime tightens its grip, Satrapi is sent to Europe for her safety, where she navigates exile, identity, and longing before ultimately returning to an Iran profoundly changed—and so is she.
