Guy Ritchie's MobLand launched on Paramount+ in March 2025 as the streaming platform's flagship British prestige-drama production of the year. The series consolidated Ritchie's continuing engagement with the broader British gangster-cinema tradition after The Gentlemen (the 2019 feature and its 2024 series adaptation), and brought together a major-name British acting cast at substantial production budget.

Harry Da Souza (Tom Hardy), the fixer the Harrigan crime family call when something (a body, a rival, a rumour) needs making to go away, is at the centre of the series's unfolding generational crisis. When a generational conflict between Harrigan patriarch Conrad (Pierce Brosnan), the family matriarch Maeve (Helen Mirren), and a rival London crime family threatens the broader equilibrium of the East-End criminal economy, Harry's professional position requires increasingly difficult navigations. Paddy Considine plays Conrad's son, the family heir.

The series operates in a register of stylish prestige-British-gangster drama with substantial period-design and contemporary-London geographical reach. Ritchie's commitment to a faster-paced editing register than typical prestige-streaming productions, the sustained ensemble work of the major-name cast, and the broader continuing reach of the British-gangster-cinema convention combine into a series that continues a continuous tradition of substantial British-gangster commercial reach. Hardy's central performance has been compared favourably to his earlier work on Bronson and The Take.
