Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl

Nick Park, Merlin Crossingham · UK · 2024

Wallace's overly ambitious latest invention — a "smart gnome" — is hijacked by Feathers McGraw, the silent criminal mastermind chicken from The Wrong Trousers, who is now masterminding revenge from his glass tank at the city zoo; classic Aardman stop-motion adventure for the streaming era.

About

Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham's Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature at the 97th Academy Awards in March 2025 and the BAFTA nomination for Best Animated Film at the 78th BAFTAs the same year, although it was beaten by Flow at both ceremonies. It also won the prestigious Cristal Award for Best Feature at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June 2025.

The film is the first Wallace & Gromit feature in nineteen years (since The Curse of the Were-Rabbit in 2005) and the first new piece of Wallace & Gromit material in any format since the BBC One short A Matter of Loaf and Death in 2008. The production was developed at Aardman's Bristol studios across approximately five years from initial green-light to completion, with stop-motion plasticine work taking the equivalent of 220,000 individual frames of model manipulation by an animation team of approximately fifty staff.

The film returns the silent penguin antagonist Feathers McGraw — the central villain of The Wrong Trousers in 1993 — to active narrative status after thirty-one years; this restoration of the property's most distinctive visual character was widely treated as the production's central audience-engagement decision. Peter Sallis, who had voiced Wallace across the entire run from 1989 to 2010, had died in 2017; Ben Whitehead — who had been Sallis's voice double on later short pieces — assumes the role for this feature. The film was distributed by Netflix worldwide except in the UK, where the BBC retained streaming rights and broadcast the production on Christmas Day 2024.
