House of Guinness

Steven Knight's House of Guinness arrived on Netflix in September 2025 across eight hour-long episodes, the writer-creator's first new period drama since concluding the principal run of Peaky Blinders in 2022, and his largest single Netflix commission to date. The production is by Kudos in association with Knight's own Nebulastar, with the BBC's Caroline Skinner and Knight himself as showrunners; direction is shared between Tom Shankland (The Missing) and Mounia Akl (Costa Brava, Lebanon).

The cast is led by Anthony Boyle (Manhunt, Masters of the Air) as Arthur Guinness, alongside Louis Partridge as Edward, Fionn O'Shea (Normal People) as Benjamin and Emily Fairn (Black Mirror) as Anne. James Norton plays Sean Rafferty, head of the brewery's hard men; Jack Gleeson, Niamh McCormack, Seamus O'Hara and Dervla Kirwan complete a strikingly young Irish-led ensemble. Cinematography is by Si Bell (Boiling Point); the score is by Anne Nikitin and incorporates original songs co-written with Mick Jagger and the Kentucky Headhunters.

Reviews on launch were broadly positive, The Guardian, The Telegraph and Variety placed the production design and Boyle's central performance among the year's strongest. The series entered Netflix's UK top ten on launch day and has been renewed for a second instalment.
