Isabel Kleefeld and Julian Pörksen's Dear Child (Liebes Kind) launched on Netflix in September 2023 as one of the platform's flagship German-language original productions. A woman (Kim Riedle) flees a car accident at the side of a remote German country road with her small daughter. At the hospital, police and a grieving family slowly come to recognise her: she is the woman who disappeared thirteen years earlier without a trace. The series follows the present-day investigation into her thirteen-year disappearance, intercut with the broader investigation of where she has been, the small daughter who is with her, and a second child (a boy) who is now missing. Haley Louise Jones plays a senior police investigator; Naila Schuberth and Julius Gause play the children.
